Brooklyn-based trio Bethlehem Steel release their upcoming album, Party Naked Forever, on November 10. Today (Nov. 2), the band shares a new single off the album, “Finger It Out.”

In this guitar-heavy track, frontwoman Rebecca Ryskalczyk exposes the anxious thoughts that plague her, posing a heavy question to her partner: “How do you plan to make love to me while we're debating which one of us will die too young?” The song captures this melancholy as it shifts from energetically, guitar-heavy to a languid tone as Ryskalczyk wails “If I sit still I can feel myself dying.”

“I started writing this song the day that Geneviève (Castrée) Elverum passed away,” Ryskalczyk tells Billboard about the death last year of Mount Eerie leader Phil Elverum's wife. “I was listening to Mount Eerie in my headphones and watching the person I love play guitar while we were camped out at my brothers house in Florida. I guess this is a response to that sort of never knowing how much time you have. Detaching yourself for moments to look at things.”
